This is the only one that gets everything exactly right. Specifically, it allows mounting two 2.5" drives in the space of a 3.5" drive, and has all 10 tapped (threaded) holes that a 3.5" HDD has, in the right places (6 on the sides, 4 on the bottom). This makes it a truly universal mount -- it will fit in any case that has mounting holes designed to fit a standard 3.5" HDD. Cables can be managed if you know what you're doing, but if not it may be a little tight for novice builders. Comes with instructions on how to screw in place, basically sits on top of another. Need more products like these at this price. This review is from: SILVERSTONE SDP08 3.5 to 2 X 2.5-Inch Bay Converter (Personal Computers) Wow, you'd think it wouldn't be this difficult to get this type of product right, but finally I've found one that IS! This has: - exterior dimensions are the same as a standard 3.5" drive - ~solid sheet metal on bottom and both sides, meaning this should work in most screw-less enclosures - threaded hole pattern is correct & complete - has all the holes [sides AND bottom] that my Seagate 7200.12 (standard 1.5TB drive) has, in the correct location. - works perfectly with my OCZ SSD - easy hole pattern to access screws for 2.5" drive as an added bonus, I could mount 2 2.5" drives if I needed to. Thank you silverstone... I've just ordered another to mount a quite 2.5" drive in my HTPC... With the very first load of clothes, the bar came loose from the base and tumbled around with the clothes resulting in spots on the clothes. I wrote it off as maybe it wasn't seated well in the base and came loose. I reinstalled the bar in the base and it worked fine for the next few loads. While a bedspread was being dried, the bar again came loose from the base and the base also came loose from the drum. Several pieces broke off the bar as it tumbled around resulting in a huge mess in the dryer and lint screen. Based on my experience, I will return to the use of Bounce sheets, a product that as always worked well. It seemed like a great idea to me so I did a bit of research. There tended to be two types of reviews... either people loved them or they hated them. A bit more research and I found that most that hated them had problems with them adhearing to the inside of the dryer. As I read more reviews I learned that MANY people were actually installing them incorrectly. Install them correctly and you will be much less likely to have a problem. I used alcohol to clean the location on the dryer DRUM wall (NOT THE FIN) where I wanted to place the bar. After cleaning I let it dry. (Don't use a spray cleanser or disinfectant wipe... they might leave a residue that will prevent good adhesion.) Then I took the holder out of the package, removed the backing from the sticky foam, and firmly stuck it to the clean location. I let it set overnight to develop a good, firm hold. I do not recommend this product. Stick to dryer sheets. I installed the dryer bar per the instructions, during the drying cycle the adhesive failed and the bar tumbled with the clothes. This made a mess of the load and also left a waxy residue on the stainless steel drum of my brand new dryer. This residue is nearly impossible to remove, and left marks on the stainless steel. Once placed inside of your dryer where it stays secure, heat, plus the tumbling movement of your clothes, allows for the transfer of fabric softener. When installed properly, the adhesive will remain stuck to the dryer drum until removed, thus locking the bar safely in place. How do I replace it? You'll know it's time to insert a new Dryer Bar when the word "Replace" appears on your old one. Simply pull back the wings on either side of the holder, and the old bar should slide right out. Then simply snap the new one in place. Can I remove the Dryer Bar holder? Generally, you shouldn't need to replace your dryer bar holder to replace your bar. If for some reason you decide to remove the Dryer Bar holder, you can do so in just 3 easy steps: 1.) Turn your empty dryer on the High/Cotton setting for 5 minutes to soften the adhesive. 2.) Wait several minutes for the dryer drum to cool, then use a plastic spatula to gently pry the holder off. Do not use anything metal, as metal can scratch the dryer drum surface. 3.) Use the spatula to rub off any excess residue. You can also use a wet dishtowel with some mild soap like Dawn® Dish Detergent.
